How many of y’all know what Pinterest is? If you do, great! If you don’t, you’re missing out, but congratulations on still having a social life, even though you won’t have 17 chips & dip recipes to serve at your next party. Anywho, as I was filtering through the ‘workout’ section of Pinterest I came across a Pin that caught my eye… how did it catch my eye, you ask? Well, it had nothing to do with the fact that the caption read, “Flatten your belly, slim your things, and firm your butt in two weeks without a single sit-up or squat”. SAY WHAT??? No sit-ups or squats?? This is like the jackpot of all Pin’s!! AND, I can do all this in TWO WEEKS?!? I am positive bells and whistles started going off and a rainbow unicorn named Fred showed up to guide me to the Promised Land. Obviously rainbow unicorns do not exist and neither do ‘flat belly’ in two-week exercises.
We all know that the secret to weight loss is not a secret, it is diet and exercise. For me, the diet part is easier because it is not something I have to set out a certain amount of time for it. It’s the exercise that gets me. I have 2 evenings blocked out for working out, but other than that, I don’t get much exercise. Sure, I take the stairs instead of the elevator sometimes, but I wear heels to work so let’s not get carried away.
The great part about finding this Pin was that it showed me a couple of really great exercises I could do at home while I play with my 8-month-old on the floor. These types of exercises I can handle because I don’t feel like I am taking time away from my family. Plus, Pierce thinks it’s hilarious when I do some of these moves… and that, folks, is why I exercise in the privacy of my own home with my 8-month-old as an audience.
The other great thing about these particular exercises is that I can do them without any equipment. I do use a yoga band, but only because it goes well with my yoga pants and mat. I haven’t been doing this set of exercises long, but I have noticed an increase in flexibility in my hip flexors, and my lower back hasn’t been bothering me as much.
I have approximately nine more days before I reach the two-week mark. I will be sure to post a picture of my killer abs. That last comment is a total joke because: A- we all know it takes way longer than two weeks to get abs; it takes at least 3. And, B- I would NEVER post a picture of my stomach on the internet for all y’all to see, you’re welcome. However, I will post a picture of my kid crawling over my face while I try to do 17 scissor kicks in a row.
